Common questions

What does Fomo mean?

FOMO is the fear of missing out: the nagging sense that the best thing on your timeline went by while you weren't looking. It peaks the moment you step away, which is where the name comes from. Peak Fomo exists so you can step away anyway — the links keep collecting while you're gone, and they read in minutes when you're back. The longer version is on the homepage.

Which Mastodon servers work?

Any of them. Start typing your server's name on the connect screen and matching servers from the public directory appear as you go, biggest first; a few popular picks sit one tap beneath the empty field. You sign in on your server's own website, so Peak Fomo never sees your password.

Is there a free version?

There's a free week. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial with every feature turned on, so nobody pays without a full week of the real app. After that, Peak Fomo is $9.99 a year or a single $29.99 purchase for lifetime access. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

How does saving work?

Swipe right on a card (or tap its bookmark icon) and the link is saved. If you've connected Pinboard or Linkding in Settings, it files the link there; with neither configured, saves are local stars you can filter to with the Saved tab. One honest caveat: removing a save in Peak Fomo doesn't delete the bookmark from Pinboard or Linkding — do that in the service itself.

I dismissed a card by accident

An Undo button hangs around for five seconds after every dismissal (on a Mac, ⌘Z works too). After that, the dismissal sticks: dismissed links stay dismissed, and a fresh sync never resurrects them.

Where did my older cards go?

Check the timeline window (the calendar menu above the feed). Cards outside the current window are kept, not deleted, so switching from Last Week to Last Month or All Time brings them straight back, saves and dismissals intact.

Why does sign-in ask for full access to my account?

Sign-in requests read, write, and push access. Reading is what powers the feed today; write and push exist for planned posting and notification features. The app never posts, follows, or changes anything on your account by itself. The details are in the privacy policy.

I already paid. How do I restore my purchase?

Open the purchase screen in the app and choose Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so make sure you're signed in with the same one you bought with.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings.

What about Bluesky?

Today Peak Fomo reads Mastodon only. Bluesky is the planned next feed source — if that's the one you're waiting for, say so through the contact button above, and watch the release notes.

Privacy

Peak Fomo collects nothing: no analytics, no tracking, no accounts of ours. Your timeline stays between your device and your Mastodon server. The full details are in the privacy policy.
